Over de Spreeuw

De spreeuw is een zangvogel uit de familie Sturnidae (spreeuwen). Hoewel hij het hele jaar door te zien is, is het een trekvogel. De spreeuwen die in de zomer in Nederland of België zijn, vliegen in de winter naar het zuiden. Spreeuwen die in Nederland of België overwinteren bevinden zich gedurende de zomer noordelijker.

Hoe herken ik een Spreeuw? Een Spreeuw is gemiddeld 30 tot 45 centimeter lang, met een lichtgriuwachtig verenkleed dat in de zon weerschijnlijk bronsgroen aandoet. In de winter is het kleurtje duidelijker gespikkeld dan in de zomer.
